Meet Dr. Michael W. Miller

Dr. Michael W. Miller has been the co-owner and medical director at Lakewood Animal Hospital since 2015. In addition to providing preventative and primary care to dogs and cats, he has a special interest in reptiles which led him to start a wildlife rescue at Lakewood to treat local turtles injured while crossing the road.
He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Miami (Florida) and his doctorate degree from the University of Illinois.
Dr. Miller considers the resident cats and lobby turtles at Lakewood part of his family. Outside of the hospital, he and his wife are raising their two sons and a mischievous mixed breed rescue dog named Wombat.
He enjoys watching Chicago Bears football, mentoring students, and writing for online veterinary blogs using Harry Potter analogies to inspire positive change by encouraging his colleagues to discover the magic in veterinary medicine.
