Meet Dr. Stephen P. Carter
DVM“The staffs at all of the clinics are great people, as well as the doctors, and fun to be around. Growing up in Morris, I enjoy the small town living and the quality medicine we can offer our communities.”
Dr. Stephen P. Carter is a talented veterinarian who originally started with our practice in 1983 as a kennel technician and rejoined as a doctor in 1993. His humor brightens everyone’s day and is matched by his compassion for the well-being of his patients, whether they are tree frogs or Labradors.
He obtained both his bachelor’s and doctorate degrees from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Dr. Carter and his wife have one daughter, and they have enjoyed a variety of pets through the years including snakes, lizards, rabbits, numerous small mammals, and even a squirrel monkey named Alvin while growing up. His current yellow Labrador, Lamar, is as much of a joy to be around as Dr. Carter himself.
He enjoys reading, fly fishing, and other outdoor activities in his free time. Dr. Carter also has a ‘mean’ drop pitch in Wiffle Ball.
